We had a combined outing with members of Ripon ARK this year and were all very grateful to be blessed with good weather.

Driver Jason from Atkinson’s gave us a very smooth ride and even took our group photo. Tim Robinson (3rd left), who has been a RAP volunteer for 20 years, and his wife Rachel are leaving soon for an exciting new life in the Orkneys and will be sadly missed. We took the opportunity at the end of the day to present Tim with a farewell card and gift.

There are many ways to travel around to the different areas and here are some of us waiting for the tram.

One comes along every few minutes.

All aboard!

Beamish has plenty to offer railway enthusiasts too. Pockerley Waggonway represents 1825.

Rowley Station was built in 1867 and moved to Beamish over a century later.

A train ride is always fun.

Not too fast, though!

Homes from different eras of housing are well represented and here are a few of us inside one of the period buildings.

Jerry even found himself an Anderson shelter. How very appropriate!

This is how portraits used to be. I think most of us would prefer colour photography, but it’s interesting to look back.

AS WE SPLIT UP INTO GROUPS, ONLY A FEW PHOTOGRAPHS HAVE SO FAR BEEN CONTRIBUTED TO THE WEBSITE. MORE WOULD BE VERY WELCOME AND COULD EASILY BE ADDED. PLEASE SEND THEM TO JERRY.
